Hello, World!

As most of you have gathered by my online presence elsewhere, my name is not Suzy Q-tip; nor Suzy for that matter. My name is Hildegarde, and it is a pleasure meeting you all. The reason I am starting this blog is because I need a creative outlet, some way of expressing myself outside of work. This blog brings together quite a few of my favourite things: beauty and skincare, nail polish, photography, writing, editing, and last but definitely not least, computers and technology.

 My aim for this blog is for it to be a space where I can be creative and share with you my love for all things beauty-related. I am by no means a beauty guru, I simply wish to share with you things that make my heart beat a little faster and bring a smile to my face. (I also love baking, so from time to time there might be a cupcake or dessert recipe, who knows.) Being an obsessive list maker, this blog will also serve as a method to document all my favourite things in an easily accessible way.

 So why Suzy Q-tip? I have wanted to start a blog for quite a few months now, but I couldn’t commit to a name. Nothing felt right. Then one day my friend and I were throwing around ideas and after we couldn’t come up with anything witty, I told her she could use my second name (Suzanne) if she wanted. You know, something along the lines of Suzy… Suzy Q… Suzy Q-tip. And so the name stuck.

 I hope that you will enjoy my blog and that you will come back again and again. If you have any comments or any ideas on posts/type of posts that you would like me to do, feel free to send me an email (see About).
