All about that spritz!

Today's post is all about spritzes I am currently using. Spritzes wake you up on drowsy afternoons, and also help to keep your makeup fresh. Below are three current favourites.

Balm Balm Frankincense Hydrosol

This little spray bottle is packed full of goodness. The contents is made from Frankincense hydrosol, which is the by-product from the steam distillation of Frankincense essential oil. It is organic and 100% natural. I like to use this at night after cleansing and before I apply my facial oil. It has a light Frankincense smell which I find very comforting at night. You can buy this from Luhla for R120 (30 ml). You can also buy Balm Balm products on Kalahari.com, but I find that their prices are only good when they have a sale (like when I bought this hydrosol).

The Body Shop Vitamin C Energising Face Spritz

This is an instant pick-me-up to refresh tired skin. It contains Vitamin C rich Amazonian camu camu (a cherry-like fruit) and Community Fair Trade aloe vera. It's perfect for dull skin or when your skin just feels "meh". I like using this during the day when I'm feeling drowsy or tired. It instantly wakes me up, and it brightens my skin too. The fact that it smells like oranges also helps! You can buy this from The Body Shop for R135 (100 ml).

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

I have spoken about this mist quite a few times (here and here) and I still love it. I like to use this in the mornings before I put on my makeup, and during the day to refresh my skin and my makeup (when I'm not using the Vitamin C spritzer). It smells like Turkish delight, hmmm! You can buy this from The Body Shop for R120 (100 ml).

I forgot to include it in the photograph, but another favourite is the Uriage Thermal Water for sensitive skin.

It doesn't smell like anything except, well, thermal water. The reason I didn't include it is because it's not currently on rotation in my skincare routine, and I'm now not sure why that is! Spraying thermal water on your skin isn't remotely the same thing as just spraying normal tapwater on your skin. Thermal water has many benefits, replenishing the zinc content of your skin being one of them. I have the big can as well as the small travel size can and will make a point of incorporating it into my routine much more!

I also recently got sent the Balm Balm Rose Floral Water Hydrosol which just contains rose water. I'm very keen to try it as I have heard many great things about it.

Have you ever used any of these spritzes? Which other spritzes are your favourite? Let me know in the comments section.

Until next time!

  1. Have been eyeing the Vitamin E Face Mist since I started using a few of the other products in the same range. Definitely think I need to add it to my basket the next time I am near The Body Shop

    1. It's a lovely product, I don't think you'll regret buying it! Also, TBS currently has a 20% off promotion on all Vitamin E products... Thanks for commenting, Kate!
